REX CHRISTIANISSIMUS, crowned and mantled / REX COELESTI OLEO INCTUS, Louis kneeling right, being blessed by bishop standing left; attendants around. Iridescent toning, a few edge dings. Near EF.

The majority of the European medals from the Duke of Northumberland Collection were acquired by Hugh Percy, the first Duke of Northumberland, before his death in 1786, giving this piece a pedigree to nearly the year of its creation.
